My Hertha Blog and tales of the Olympiastadion.
Why Write An English Language Hertha Blog?
I live in Sussex in the UK but spend about a quarter of my time in Berlin. I am a Hertha BSC fan as well as a member and season ticket holder. I love going to the Olympiastadion to watch the home games and this is - meine Hertha blog in Englisch!
We usually stay in Berlin just chilling out, we just enjoy being there. Sometimes we visit relatives, sometimes we have business there and, usually we take in a match and we see Hertha play! Every few weeks I record an English language podcast about Hertha with my friend Jan.
I also have a passing interest in Brighton and Hove Albion who I go and watch a couple of times a season when I'm in the UK.

I am a member of Axel Kruse Jugend (AKJ), one of the Official Fan Clubs (OFCs) of Hertha in Berlin but the club also has an international presence. AKJ is named after the famed 1990’s Hertha striker who started his senior career at Hansa Rostock.
AKJ is a fan club that loves a tolerant and cosmopolitan Berlin as well as a tolerant and cosmopolitan Hertha. The club expressly and resolutely opposes any form of discrimination. It stands in particular against right-wing extremism and homophobia.

The real draw of the Hertha and the Bundesliga has been the wonderful people I have met supporting Hertha in Berlin as well as the atmosphere and sheer passion of the fans. I love watching footy but I really don’t know what I’m talking about but hey, it doesn't stop anyone else so here is an opportunity for me to say what's on my mind from week to week in my Hertha Blog.
Usually I will be raving on about Hertha and their ups and downs, occasionally Brighton and sometimes random stuff that rattle’s my cage. I will be the first to admit that many of my postings are totally biased but hey, it's my blog! If you want objective journalism perhaps you should look elsewhere
Quite a few of my posts are started, if not completely written on various types of transport or even waiting for a flight so do not expect expertly crafted pieces - sorry about that!
