The match continued the recent trend of losses even when playing a team that the Old Lady destroyed 0:4 away. It started with a goal for Hertha and the long missed elation experienced in the anticipation of some points but one goal is rarely enough and sadly, this game was no exception. The lovely weather was some small compensation to the result I guess. My Hertha shirt didn’t need to be worn over a hoodie or even another shirt and I was able to scare the general population by wearing shorts and exposing my legs!
I normally take a beer or two along to drink outside the Osttor whilst waiting for the gates to open and this game was no exception but this time Hertha’s sponsors gave visiting supporters a voucher that entitled them to a small drink in the stadium. You could have beer or a soft drink if you preferred. It was just a token gesture perhaps but nice touch by the club and sponsors I thought. |
Much of the credit must go to Pal Dardai I feel in creating the team spirit that has pulled us through on many occasions over the season. Let’s get Mainz out of the way before I rant on too much about all of this and our future in Europe.
For the time being I'll leave you with a pretty view taken in the evening after the match and having sunk a few jars. Life's not all bad . .
