With just five games to play in the 2013/14 Bundesliga season Hertha travel to Leverkusen in the hope of picking up points to bolster their mid table position. It's not going to be easy as the Old Lady is missing a few key players. It looks like Fabian Lustenberger is still out of the squad and, for this match at least, he will be joined by Adrian Ramos who injured his thigh in the match against Hoffenheim. On top of this both Jay Brooks and Hany Mukhtar didn't make the squad for Sunday's match. Kobi and Peter Niemeyer are on the coach so they'll probably get a run out at some point at least. I always like seeing Peter getting a game. He works so hard and he comes across a decent sort of bloke from what I have seen of him.
In terms of match history between the two clubs things could be worse for the "Old Lady". She has only lost one of the last seven games in Leverkusen and has had a four games unbeaten run away at Bayer. Jos Luhukay on the other hand has not faired so well. He has met Leverkusen five times as both a player and a coach and he has lost all five. Let's hope we have the luck of the Old Lady this week!
Sadly I'll not be able to see this match live so I'll have to make do with my phone again. Hey, it's better than nothing!
Well, Hertha brought home no points after a 2:1 loss away in Leverkusen. I didn't sound good when I heard Stefan Kießling Scored in the first minute! We then went 2:0 down 23 minutes later. Some face was saved when Sandro Wagner pulled one back with a header in the 38th minute.
So, in the end, it appears we had to content ourselves with the luck of Jos Luhukay against Bayer Leverkusen but we live on to fight another day.
